Default Full hood paint protection? Need your help

Can you please show me a close up picture of this area on your car. Just had a full hood paint protection applied but the area where the hood meets the fender close the the windshield looks terrible.

Looks like it is coming up. Should not look like that. Have them redo it.

How does the other side look?

Do you thing it got caught on your wash mitt?

Mine comes a little short of the point.

My wrap folks must of used pattern cut material since it's the same on both sides.

Anyway you can get closer? If there is any hanging over, the installer may be able to trim the edge and fix it with minimal time/effort.

Also what film did they install?

i think what the op is seeing is the relief they cut towards the point, on the patterns that allow for wrapping the edges. mine is the same way, it wraps the edges up to about 2 inches from the point, then just runs along the edge...

That doesn't look good at all. If it was done recently there is clearly an issue, suggest you have your wrap place take a look. I would share a pic of mine but it is essentially the same as looking at an uncovered hood... it fully wraps the hood/top of fender and no seams are visible.

No offence but this looks even worse, not sure I've heard of a hood/fender wrap job that doesn't wrap around leaving exposed edges like that. Very odd. My guy uses a computer cut pattern system as well but every edge is fully wrapped over. The potential for dirt etc to get caught in all of those exposed seams is high plus it is quite noticeable.

My installer used Xpel and did a great job. The film is completely folded under the fenders and hood for a clean look. He also removed the crest before wrapping my hood.

Nice job. How it should be done. Unfortunately installers in smaller markets are clueless.

Thanks for the helps guys. The film was installed today I went back to the shop and they are going to redo the whole hood again. I'm hoping they do a better job the second time or I will ask for my money back. Again thanks you guys are awesome.

I was lucky that my installer was previously employed at the dealership where I ordered my car so his work was on display in the showroom. I still "interviewed" him via phone/text before committing to him. He has now done 3 of my coworkers cars after they saw his work on my car.

Let me know If you need more detailed pics, i'lll gladly send them over. Good luck!!
