I have used a 5000SLX for a couple of years for my 997.2 and just ordered the relatively new extension kit so I can lift my Macan when it is time to swap for the snows.

https://www.quickjack.com/accessorie...-kit-pair.html

QuickJack’s frame extenders increase the lift point spread of the BL-5000SLX and BL-7000SLX by 6”. Sold in sets of 2, these easy-to-use, removable adapters require no setup whatsoever. They’re rugged, lightweight and effectively give your standard-length SLX model the same reach as an extended-length EXT model.

Hmm...I bought a QuickJack a couple months ago. Haven’t used it yet to lift my Macan but my recollection of my measurements is that the 5000 SLX will work fine for the Macan without the extension kit.

The max spread between front and jack points is 66” with the extensions. I don’t know much about Macan but Cayenne has ~74” spread so my plan to use slx with extensions on my Cayenne did not work out at least as of now.

Thinking of selling mine in the Chicagoland Area if anyone has an interest. I have used it 2 times, 5000LX complete and ready for use.

Thanks everyone for their help. I have a 991.2 and a 2013 Cayenne. I'm looking to get the 5000SLX. Can anyone confirm whether I need the extension kit to lift the Cayenne?

Also, are their any other pieces (e.g. rubber blocks) that I need to purchase to lift the 911 or does everything already come in the box? Thanks in advance!

Quickjack support has been good. One hydraulic hose arrived with a fray, they replaced it. My original pump leaked hydraulic fluid. I sent them a pic, they sent me a new unit. The fluid leak ended up being a simple fix, so now I have a backup power unit
I have this leak, do you mind sharing the fix?

I still dont think I would feel comfortable getting under it, but for things like swapping wheels, or doing brake work I think it would be great.

If you are afraid to get under it, you can still use it but use jack stands as a safety measure, just like you would if using a regular jacks.

I used the 5000SLX for my 991.1 and it works perfect. My buddy came over with his 2015 Cayenne Turbo and the jack was much too short to fit the jack points. I am not even sure if it will work with the extension. We were able to put the jacks sideways and lift on the jack point and the frame which worked fine but not as eloquent as the way it jacks up the 991

It was simple. The leak came from one of the ports that takes a hex key to tighten. In order to reach it, I had to quickly disassembler the box that interfered with access. Just tighten them up and the leaks should be gone!

I got the Quick Jack 5000 from Costco, around $1100 delivered. I shopped and compared to several others, not so much on price but access and portability. (The one that goes up and down with a drill seemed the most overpriced plus has a crossbar dead in the way of the transmission if that’s important.)

The QuickJack arrived via UPS pretty quickly, interestingly a 991 is on the box. Took me about an hour to set it up because I’m OCD and read about fluid leaks, Teflon tape, all that.

Fortunately zero leaks occurred. I had a little issue syncing the two sides but found I’d not properly bled one of the lifts. All good now.

It raised my 914-6 like a toy (no comment!) and we removed engine, transmission, are doing brakes and a bunch of cleaning while there.

Far as safety, the two sides lock in place nicely, firmly, securely. I put jack stands under there just because. It would take an interruption in gravity for the locks to disengage.

Best thing is that I can roll all under it, no crossbar, can easily move the two sides by myself, and store out it the way. A couple others required tools or dismantling to move around, or weighed more than I want to be manhandling regularly.

I’ll add what many others have said: Should’ve done it earlier! I also feel good about QJs customer service reports and Costco’s backing. BTW, I called the company with the drill mechanism and got the impression they were small and spread thin. (The owner - who answered the phone- seemed stressed and had a seriously negative attitude also.)

I look forward to finishing up the mechanical and cosmetic work on the car while it sits way up, safe and accessible in my warm little garage. Happy with the purchase.
