Alcantara and Scotch Guard protection! Yay, mouse fur!
I know its a man made fiber, but I did a test. I have a GTS with alcantara interior. I used my hot water extractor and cleaned all the carpets. And than Scotch Guard protected the carpet in the car.
Than I thought about the yellow seat belts, so I pulled them way out, close pinned them in position and did the belts. Because light yellow can stain easy! All turned out great. Than I read of people wondering if alcantara could be done. I have an alcantara key chain and instead of using the heavy carpet type Scotch product, I decided to do a test on the key fob with the fabric Scotch Guard product.
I taped off 1/2 of it and treated it and left the other alone. After drying the one side felt a tad slicker maybe! Than after it cured out for 24 hours, I put a mustard line on it to test for stain removal. The treated side came right off and the other side did but with lots of scrubbing.
After drying I couldn't tell the treated side felt any different just maybe a bit slicker if that. The fur wasn't matted down or anything just didn't feel quite as grippy which I like.
I am not saying everyone do your mouse fur. Just food for thought and my seats did not turn orange or do anything crazy. Maybe they will just be easier to wipe clean now when I dump a taco on them!

Here you go! I used the carpet of course on the carpet but on the seat belts too. And the fabric I used on all the Alcantara. Even door panels and dash. After pic is included. I as well lightly wiped the seats with a microfiber towel after. The pic below shows the fabric a day later. Still can show direction patterns, not all matted up!
