Hi guys, I am just before closing my order of a new 991.2 and I would love to get the Bordeaux Red / Black interior but somehow as I have to close the order by Monday I am starting to chicken out and get the full black interior. Have any of you seen the interior in real life (any pics would be great) and do you believe that one will still be in love with it in a couple of years...?
Any views are much appreciated!

Your only regret would be not getting it I think. I chickened out of Imola Red interior in my e46 M3 back in 2001, ended up with plain black and cursed myself for it every day I had that car. I righted that wrong with my M5, in which I got Sakhir Orange interior.
Do it - sounds like your gut is telling you the same thing.

Go for it ! I have a black S4 with the red leather seats and I love it. The least favorite part of my 997 is the boring black interior. My next Porsche will have any color interior except black
Good luck

See this thread:

This is an all Bordeaux interior, but the bordeaux looks like a nice rich color. I ordered the bordeaux/black and after seeing the pictures in that thread am pretty happy.

Once you go red leather, you never go back....
I have Carrera red and black, 991.1, and love the sporty feel of it. I have an all black cayenne and feel like I am in a hired limo....
The new Bordeaux red is amazing!

Sounds like everybody has the same opinion. I agree with fact that black is boring and because I will use the car as a daily driver I was thinking that what is boring cannot turn out to be weird at any stage in the future. You guys are really confident I should go with the red - I will talk it over with the wife once more and probably give it a try. The trim will be carbon. Thanks!

I have red/black. All red would be fine if they just wouldn't do the steering wheel in red also -- personally feel wheels should be black or dark brown. But that's me.
As for carpets, at least for 991.1 last year, I took it all the way to Germany and couldn't get black carpets. I thought that would be a big deal and that I'd really want the black carpets. 991 Turbo S (but not regular Turbo) offered the choice of black or red carpets with the black/red interior. But all other variants only offered Red carpets unless you went into the special order interior route and took six months and cost a fortune.
But the good news is, the mats are all black, so you just get a hint of red, but the corner of your eye is really seeing black down there when you're on the inside of the car.
