Custom 991 hood stripe

Rzundel, in your pictures the black stripe looks to have a blue hue to it. With your white car, this is the perfect homage to America’s best all around sportsman, brilliant inventor, builder and driver of his own sports racing cars and the undisputed inventor of the ‘racing stripe’, Briggs Cunningham.
Back in the old days, Grand prix cars were required to carry the color assigned to the country of origin (red for Italy, green for England, blue for France etc.) the US cars used white with blue trim. In 1950 Briggs felt his cars were perfect and ready to kick Euro A$$ at Le Mans. He kinda resented having to add even one extra gram of weight with a second color of paint, so he was determined to make it something useful. By fashioning two blue stripes with a narrow space between them on the hood they formed a type of gun site. Drivers who spun a car coming out of a curve could look down the stripes to reorient the car straight down the track to quickly get going again.
This is an excellent trivia question; so feel free to win large sums of money from your friends as to who invented the Racing Stripe.
