Default 991 GTS winter wheel options... 997 GTS rims possible?

So it is still way early of course but I'm already thinking about what to do for wheels/tires for winter 2015/2016 here in Toronto. My 991 GTS is a spring delivery so I'll be ok for this year but definitely need to sort out something for next... as of now my plan is to put 20" winter tires on the black Turbo center lock wheels but may do something different depending on what is possible.

I've been looking around here and elsewhere but unable to confirm if running 19" wheels will be possible on the new GTS... any thoughts from the experts? Seems like there are more options available in 19" and for winter I could just grab a set of used 997 GTS wheels or something similar. Saves me some loot for a nice set of 20" HREs CLs down the road.

Appreciate any input or other ideas... thanks!

For better or worse, I bought 20" winter tires from Porsche as part of my deal. $2k. I will be taking delivery of the car with them on.

I might look for some other options, to put my summer tires on. There are only a handful of manufactures that make center lock wheels.. So far I'm leaning towards HRE.

What tires, Michelin or Pirelli? I'm planning on the Michelin Alpin PA4s assuming I go ahead with the original plan.

And that is actually pretty reasonable pricing, with shipping/duty/tax to Canada the Michelins are over $2k from Tire Rack... assume you are getting the OEM summer tires to take home as well?

Agreed, I'm waiting until I have the actual wheels.

Im not sure anyone knows the actual offsets yet. My dealership did not. I know they have the technical info on the configurator, but I would not buy wheels off that spec.

Thanks Larry, think I saw this posted elsewhere too. It is less the offsets I'm worried about (I can figure that part out) vs what will clear the brakes and if the center lock sizing is the same/universal from 997 to 991. My assumption is 19s should clear the stock GTS brakes just fine but no clue on the center lock specs... or if that is even something I should be concerned about.

On the offsets I've seen people running spacers on their 991 so I should be able to figure out relatively quick what is a stock/moderate/aggressive offset... what I'm reasonably certain of is that narrow body GTS center lock wheels won't work work (ET63).

that would be my guess also ... what about GT3RS or Turbo S rears? Maybe consider a cool set of HREs for your summer tires and use the OEMs as winter?

That is my ideal solution assuming budget allows... those center lock HREs are certainly not cheap.

you might also try forgeline or GMG and maybe even Oz will probably eventually produce a CL wheel for the GTS...

ping HRE and ask them

It is. However, in the standard features list for the GTS it states offsets are 51 and 48 - same as the SportTechno wheels.
