Default Thoughts on Sports design pkg

What is everyone's thoughts on the sports design pkg? personally I think I pretty much love the sports design front bumper, but I do not like the full aero kit. The duck tail is ok, kinda a take or leave it for me I "think"

Am I wrong that you can not have the sports design bumper without the ducktail or aerokit rear??

Please post pictures of yours, more I see more I know what I want as I continue my search for the "perfect" car

You can have one without the other but they were engineered to work together for aerodynamic purposes.

It's all personal preference but a lot of people on this forum (like myself) love the full aero package. In the end it's your car so you can do whatever you want with it.

If you intend to track your car, I would be a bit nervous about adding a different front bumper. In the past, these bumpers were for show only. Now they actually change the handling of the car at speed. The back end may get light at speed but it is impossible to tell for sure without actually testing the configuration. If you are driving on the street only, I would not think that it would matter. In the end its all a matter of preference and that is your decision. I am partial to the full Aero package.

GTS comes from factory with SD front bumper and no rear fixed spoiler, so I imagine it is fine.

Don't know if programming different for retractable spoiler with SD front bumper?

The GTS comes with the Power Kit and I believe that increases the angle of incidence for the rear spoiler.

Correct ^^^^^

There is a bit of a programming difference that the dealer can do for the retractable spoiler if deciding upon the front SD bumper. No biggie.

Porsche does not recommend the duck or Aerokit Cup rear spoilers without using the Sport Design bumper.

Only using the Sport Design bumper is fine as noted above.

I have not made up my mind yet on the ducktail. I like the idea, and on older 911's, I like it. The 991 is just a bit too long for me to make a ducktail an improvement over factory standard. The aerokit is over the top in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I like both options when I see them on somebody else's car. But I would not order them, I guess I am just a big fan of the clean, undisturbed classical lines of a 911.

So I'm with you on this, would I go for the SD front bumper? If it did not come with the car (like the GTS) I would most likely not add it to it.

I love the look.

One of my last visits to the dealer when I was ready to pull the trigger and the sales person said he had a new CPO that I need to see before we sit down and pen an order.....I was WOWed when I first saw the car. It looked the part and since then the standard bumper just wouldn't do.

The duck tail just completes the package.

When thinking of how many different option combinations one could come up with when putting together and order I think I would double and triple guess my decision my entire car ownership. Thank goodness the previous owner went through that and all I did was look, liked, and drove home.

I really like the full aero kit pkg especially on a CPO since it doesn't change the price much. If I had to pay the full new option price, not sure that I would buy it.

I go back and forth on these pieces, it just depends on my mood. The only thing I'm sure of is that I don't like the SD front bumper alone on a narrow body car. I think it looks good alone on the GTS, but on the narrow body, it just looks odd to me without the ducktail in the back.

Oh and I think the Aerokit is too busy for my taste. Would have looked better IMO, if it was just the wing without the duck under it.

The rear spoiler on the GTS retracts higher when equipment with S-pasm. 240 deg vs 180 deg. So the SD front bumper probably doesn't knock off the aero balance that much and can most likely be used on a narrow body as well without any adverse affects.

As someone who originally preferred the clean look of the non-spoliered rear end, I have to say I love he duck tail on my SD car!!

I get a lot of compliments that it's "just right" for the car - sportier look without being over the top.

Hell even the wife approves!!

Front spoiler looks great too - get both IMO
