Default Typical Discount?

I currently have a 2015 C2S with Sport Design & am thinking about trading for a 2016 GTS with Sport Design. I really like my car, however I think I would like the GTS better. Now, it has to make sense monetarily & wanted to get some idea of discounts (if any) that everyone has been getting on the GTS? I got about $10k off on my C2S, but understand that this might be unreasonable to expect on this car.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Also, I found a car local to me in So.Cal except it had the Xenons (really want the LED's). So, if anyone know the whereabouts of a Guards Red or White GTS with Sport Design pkg, LED's, 18 way Sport seats, Premium Plus preferred, SPAM sport & Alcantera delete....(I know, I know)....please let me know!

What are you looking for in the GTS that your car doesn't have? It may be cheaper to upgrade your C2S than take a bath on trade and hesitant dealer negotiation on the 2016 GTS.

If you are going to trade then the relevant number is how much it will cost between your used 2015 and the new 2016. Not sure what your expectations are but I would not be surprised if the dealer wants about 30k difference. That would be too big of a difference for ME to feel good about trading, but you may have a different opinion.

I believe 8% is a fair discount, anything more is extra bonus and anything less than 6% is not a hot deal, this is based on my research

After doing a bit of research, I'm thinking the same thing....I have a feeling that the hit I will take on my car (even with the discount I got) will not justify the difference in cars. Although I really like the widebody look & the extra 30 ponies....I might have to shelve this idea for a while & maybe look into some mods for the one I have now.

I think the reality is that I've had my car for almost a year now & get tired of things quickly. Need to find someway of spicing this one up to make it feel new to me again.

Thanks for the feedback as always!!

You could trade in your 911 for a CPO Turbo S and then let us all know if you're still bored.

You'd have to find a "typical Porsche" in order to evaluate a "typical discount".

Between specialty models, 991.1 v 991.2, C2 v C4, regional weather differences, etc... it's really hard to find a typical number. I believe I got a very good deal when we ordered our Targa 4S last spring and it wasn't 6% off... but there were few slots left in the order bank for a 991.1 Targa and that's what we wanted and we knew exactly what we wanted and that's what we got. Maybe I'd find something close today for a bigger discount, but "close" seems like such a compromise just to save a percent or two!

Default Keep your car

IMO---

First----You have a car that is unique and beautiful---I would like a GTS but to pay 30K -40 K to get one makes it more of an impulse purchase--I went through this about 3 months ago---My 2013 911S had a value of @ 72-76K(dealer)--- same dealer had 2015 White GTS with @2500 miles---Price was 114K---40K to get a 2 year newer car (GTS). I drove the GTS---loved it but didn't drive noticeably better than mine(too close to call) The only major advantages (to me) was the appearance of the GTS was better or different. I am not bashing the GTS or implying my car is better---just that GTS value lies more in emotion than logic--IMO.

I think the market on all 911' s is about to soften(IMO) and Used GTS' will be relatively easy to find @100K--- 911S even cheaper. The economy will soften(it always does) and those with cash will enjoy the benefits.

Either way--you win--Keep your amazing 911 or get a GTS

Do some research on torque curves of the two motors before you make a final call. If you really like the extra wide body, well it's your money and life is short! I can certainly understand the temptation! I'd recommend you find and trade for a low mile used 2015 or 16 rather than new to minimize the pain.

On a new 16 I would say expect 4% and if you get 8% then you found a deal - but it may not be the options you want
