One more thing -
It has a nice swivel on it, so it fits nicely in lower corner of driver side window and can still face you straight on. A little more stealth than mounting on windshield.

The Kenu airframe was $10 off eBay and works well for me, especially since I'm a Waze, Pandora and text user. Not that you can text and drive, but you can refer easily to a text to see an address that was sent to you etc. Hard to do if your phone is low in the cabin.
Allows for easy charging if you route a lightning cord from the glovebox 12v as well.

I keep it in my pocket unless I am on a long highway trip and want to use Waze. Then I pull out my Kenu Airframe. It fits easily in the armrest bin when not in use. Hard to beat for under $20.

I have this, and it will fit your 6 Plus:
Amazon.com: WinnerGear Montar Car Mount Holder iPhone 6 / Plus Galaxy S5 / S6 / Edge / Note 5 LG G4 Moto X OnePlus: Cell Phones & Accessories
It will never lose grip of your phone or the windshield. It comes with a flat plastic disc with sticky tape on one side, if you'd like to mount it somewhere other than the windshield.
I only use it for Waze when on the highway, but it's awesome.

I ordered from https://www.proclipusa.com/. The holder was not for my new Porsche 991.2 as I haven't yet seen the car and I am hoping the new PCM will delete the need for a holder.
The holder was for my wife's new 2016 Mini JCW's. It really needs a place for the phone other than seat, cup holder, purse or pocket.
I am happy to say I ordered the mount and holder this morning and it shipped the same day. Great service. An it looks like a clean way to mount the iPhone as it gets me quite close to the USB port.
They have allot of options for different vehicles and different phones.

I love the FusionDock from FVD Brombacher, but won't fit the 6 Plus

I did it myself and would rate it a 4 on a scale of 1-10 for difficulty. It comes with great instructions. The only challenge is getting the cables through the firewall, but the whole thing took me maybe an hour to complete.
