I like the magnetic mounts for ease, simplicity, and quickness of putting on and removing. But I have found that I always need to readjust it every time I hit a bump, as the phone would move off center depending on how bad the bump was. Not hard to readjust, but a bit of a nuisance.

Used both of the included metal plates. Did not use the stickies just installed cover over them. Does not move at all Only thing is it does add a little bit of weight to the iPhone. Super solid feel with 2 plates tho.
Also, installed on passenger side air vents at an angle towards driver side, that way driver gets all the air from left vent and on the right vent the passenger gets some air too. Not too much air blocked. Will get up some pics if anyone is interested.

I ended up with a 997 but was wondering about this as well when considering the 991. I don't think there's space anywhere in the centre console for a large phone but you can put it in the door.

I wish some folks would shove their phones in a certain orifice.
Hang up and drive already.
Steps off soap box.
Not saying attaching to the fins are bad or anything to each their own..... but if you would see how delicate the fins are mounted in the vents you would not be attaching anything to them. I had one come apart when I was trying to find where little metal clips were coming from inside the dash. Took me a good bit of time to reassemble.
I use a windshield mount once in a while on long trips.

I have this, and it will fit your 6 Plus:
It will never lose grip of your phone or the windshield. It comes with a flat plastic disc with sticky tape on one side, if you'd like to mount it somewhere other than the windshield.
I only use it for Waze when on the highway, but it's awesome.
