Myths endure because so many still believe in them:
Baby-it break-in myth.
Real cars have clutches myth.
Check tire pressure cold myth.
Lower equals better myth.
And the catch-all: Because race car myth.

talk about stupid myths. With modern detergent oils, oil gets dirty quickly and the color is in no way indicative of when it needs to be changed.
Lol, color changing on oil is a good one. OP was talking about myths and he himself believes in a few of them.

93 octane is premium where I live. So my statement still holds true. I didn't think we were discussing race fuels but since you brought it up you are correct to point that out.

Well that was before synthetic oil too. 10k on synthetic isn't a problem according to most manufacturers manuals.

Ok so we buy a $100K + car and we are worried about our fuel economy? Who are they kidding. We are there to drive the heck out of these cars and have fun, not worrying about fuel consumption.
