Default GTS vs GT4

I'm not trying to compare the 2 cars. Just really wondering if it is redundant to have both. This is my story. I had a 2014 Carrera S that was coming to an end soon on the lease. My plan originally was to get the gt4 next. I have an allocation for April build. Last month before turning in the Carrera S I had the pleasure of taking a drive with the tristate NY/NJ/Conn gt4 crew. I got the itch to get a manual transmission car after that. So I turned in the S and got a good deal on a Carrera gts with manual tranny. I leased the gts for 2 years. I love the car but am wondering if I should get the gt4 also. The gt4 would be a purchase and a keeper. Are the cars similar enough that I wouldn't appreciate the differences?

I have a Cayman S and a Carrera S and I find them to be very, very different cars. Love them both. I imagine the GT4 and GTS are different enough for it to be worth owning both.

I owned a Cayman GTS and traded it in for a 911 GTS. Totally different cars. I would not say one is better than the other, but a different experience. The Cayman GTS is so well balanced and neutral (at least in GTS form). I loved that car. If I could have kept both, I guess I would have. However, they are still similar in their mission. That is, to provide you a pleasurable driving experience. Since I could not keep both, I have no regrets on trading in the Cayman GTS for my 911 GTS. Good luck with your decision.

I see you used Roslyn... good guys there. Usually pretty pricey tho... Hope you got a decent deal.

Gt4 for track or weekend toy. Gts for more comfort, style and usefulness.

What a delightful problem. If I was in a position to have both I totally would. PDK GTS to maximise the difference between them though...

Sounds like a no lose situation.
If I wanted a GT4, I would choose a C4S/GTS4/TT cab with PDK as a GT cruiser that could be driven in less than perfect weather with Alpins as the companion vehicle.
I have a TT coupe and a BGTS and recently I've been wondering if I got it a little backwards. I might switch it out in a few.
Have fun.

Thanks for all the feedback. I definitely agree that if the GTS was pdk the different experiences would be justified. I still think the driving experiences are different enough with both being manual to have both. My other reasons to have both of them are that I do need a backseat occasionally for the kids and I drive a lot. I drive a total of 20k miles a year. I used to split the commute with an m5 and a Honda Pilot for the winter months. I no longer have the m5

I had a GT3 and a Cayman S and was not driving either enough. I was not able to go to the track either. I just sold my GT3 and ordered a Spyder for mainly weekend use and found a deal from John at PNH for a 2015 C2 GTS MT for my daily duties. Due to the amazing value retention of the GT3, I was able to make this "trade out" for about breakeven.

I hope that I will drive these two more than my other ones.

Good luck in whatever you do as you can't go wrong.
