Default First Mod PSE!

Super excited that tomorrow, I will be taking my base 991 in for PSE install at Porsche of San Antonio! My dealer, JR, worked hard to get the price down through the Service Department and the Parts Department! Big shout out to JR and Porsche of San Antonio!

Just under 4k, which is better than getting parts from Sun Coast and taking them to Houston, which would have been even more. When I first started talking to San Antonio Porsche, they were over 5k. Also, they said they would not install parts I bought from somewhere else.

Just under $4K parts + install is a very fair price! Nice job.

Not trying to rain on your parade because this is an awesome mod, but you should be able to get this done for under $3,500, possibly closer to $3k given the discount currently being offered on the parts now. If you're a base Carrera, add about $200 to that.

I paid $3,400 installed for this, and that was with 8 hours of labor included. It took them 4. And that was before Suncoast discounted the parts.

$4k isn't bad, but you might be able to get it done even cheaper if you call around.

Suncoast is charging $2,595.95 for parts. Add shipping too.

I guess even a local dealer charging $1K for install, you're at $3,700 installed.

Sometimes for ease of getting the job done and dealing with the dealer you do business with it's worth not making a huge deal over saving a few hundred bucks.

Dbull65, make sure they're giving you a complete new switch unit with the PSE button on it. Not just trying to add a button.

Also, make sure you're getting all three mufflers and new exhaust tips.

Where are the car pictures???

Yes, it is the complete kit, also I should note, that that is the only dealer in the area, the next one up the road is in Austin. Also, Momentum Porsche in Houston would have installed the exhaust after buying it from Sun Coast, but their install price was even more than at San Antonio. I should also, note that San Antonio has told me it is going to take them two days, but they are giving me a loaner (which is a Porsche as well). I really need to take more pictures, the only other one, is still on my phone.

I think of it just the opposite; it's like having an instant Upstanding Citizen switch, since I drive in Loud-***-Burble mode 96.3% of the time.

You're gonna love it!

The "2-day" job thing is nonsense though. I heard that from one dealer as well. Honestly, the quotes I got were so all over the place that I wondered if the dealerships were stupid or they just thought their customers were stupid. One quoted me $5,500...

Got the same wild estimate range when I tried to get quotes for the X73 suspension install on my Cayman S.

You are going to love the PSE! I had a great experience with Porsche of San Antonio, I bought my Targa there and drove it back to DFW.

I agree with others before me - you will love the PSE!

As for the install -- I think the price you received is fair (I personally would have done as much of the install myself! LOL), and I doubt the dealer meant that it would take 2 days to perform the install -- more likely they just wanted your car to be there for that long so they could work around it in their service schedule. If you feel like it, look through this forum and 6speedOnline for the installation description (or let me know if you need it). Armed with that knowledge, you should be able to see through any service tech shenanigans regarding time to install. Few more things involved on a Non-S car, but shouldn't be more than a 3-4 hour job, straight through.

Good Luck! And you may want to take before and after vid/sound recordings to capture the difference! Everyone will ask you......

Too late to get before sounds, already dropped off the car. The good news is I am now driving a 2016 Cayenne, maybe, I can talk my wife into trading her car into one of those, super nice!
