The case is for a violin, right?

Could you please measure the approximate dimension of your viola case, Brad? Thanks a bunch!!!

No luck so far, but will keep trying for sure. It's much easier if I can just find the right dimension.

To the OP, see if you can find a music store that will let you test fit the cases before you buy?

It's an idea, but...I prefer not to use the rear seat or passenger seat because it requires access space from the sides. Parking here is like parking in London where cars are lined up closely like sardines. It's much easier (and cooler) to access the baggage from the front

Besides, the expression of people of seeing me pulling a bag out while pretending to be a mechanic is priceless!

Also, I "don't think" it fits the passenger floor mat without tilting it vertically. The violin case is also very light and may cannon out of the windshield or fly into my face with sudden braking. C'est La Vie.

If you have a passenger, have her hold it.

I'd rather not put it in the frunk. Less finger prints on the hood and crest.

Yes, it's for violin.

Viola can have the same length as violin, but it's generally about 5-6 cm longer (2 inches?) and a bit fatter / thicker. So if a viola case can fit into the frunk, a violin case can certainly fit - but I still need to know the approximate dimension to get the right violin case!

Agreed...did a search everywhere and came up empty handed.

I figured here was the only place where I could possibly get an answer and I was right!

Watch your back! Can't believe this guy was just casually transporting the violin. Was in my hometown.

The thief's story is even more shocking.

bam Hightech Shell - ABS/Airex/PVC Triple-Ply
Crush Protection: The shell is one of the strongest available, surpassed only by some plywood cases (which are much heavier).
Shock Absorption: The polyurethane foam layer within the ABS shell is one of the best materials available for absorbing the shock of bumps and falls.
Thermal Protection: Polyurethane foam is also an excellent thermal insulator and Bam Hightech cases keep out the cold of a winter day quite well. The reflective nature of the brushed aluminum exterior also helps prevent overheating in the sun.
Durability: More durable than the standard Hightech shell. Scratches are not easily visible on the brushed aluminum.
Interior: Space is extremely limited. Black only. Bam offers nothing to measure or control humidity.
Ease of Travel: Best in its class. At only 3.5 lb., this is one of the lightest cases on the market for professional instruments. The contoured shape and size also make it much easier to carry than traditional oblong cases.

They aren't cheap but the sizes look right. Good luck.
