Have access to a steam cleaner? I have one that has a small attachment to it for tight areas. Works perfect on belts.

No, I don't have one but would it work on stains that's over a year old?

Depends on the stain. Use a pre treatment if you have to and a hot water extractor may lift the stains.

Every time I get a new car, I pretreat all the carpet and the seat belts with Scotch Guard. It does work well. I like to eat and slop sometimes.

Wouldn't hurt to try. A professional steam cleaner will be much cheaper than replacement.

I'm still on the fence as to whether this is worth the cost. Will call to get a price quote from Sunset tomorrow and see what this would run today. Will report back.

My dealer wanted just over $2000 for 4 installed. Temped to do just fronts as I keep rear seats folded with Lloyds "911" mat over them so looks like 2 seater. seeing red belts back there might look weird?

I recently did the swap myself, but it took me longer due to the fact Suncoast sent me a wrong rear seat belt. It is pretty labor intensive, involves removing rear lower seats, rear quarter side panels, B and C pillars, and inner door sills. It is about a 3 hour job. So the dealer is definitely charging you way more than they should.

Doing just the fronts isn't going to save you that much on labor, because the same interior pieces have to be removed for the front seat belts. Doing the rear is just an extra 30 minutes.

Are there no companies in the US that re-web belts?

I’m having my belts in my 991 C2 “re-webbed” in guards red as we speak. They will look and feel identical to the OEM guards red belts.

The cost is £35 per belt, and the removal / re-fit from my local Indy is £300.

the company I called Quickfit SBS - they are well established and the modification has been performed by many owners in the UK.

they offer all the standard colours plus custom options - given the price difference it may even be worth sending them to the UK? Turnaround time is approx 1 week.

for someone who plans on doing the install themselves is a great option. Since your car won’t be drive-able until you get the belts back.

Check out these guys. They can do custom belts for you in any color you want. They say they do all the belts for Singer for their cars. They dont list the 991, but they can do it, you just need to contact them. https://www.seatbeltplanet.com/

Bulk of my quotation was for labour as interior gets dismantled I gather.
