Default GTS MY questions

Was the 991.1 GTS produced as MY '15 and '16 only?

And are there any differences between model years? I was curious if any options or standard equipment were changed or added.

Thx

Yes 2015/2016; no difference.

Only a small number of 16 GTS were produced relative to the production run which were mostly 15. No difference except that 16 is the true last year of NA for the 911.

FastD, what was the reason for lower GTS production in '16? Any figures broken out by model?

Main reason, IIRC, is that the 16 model is being prematurely phased out to introduce the 991.2 turbo models. '16 models started rolling in around July, and the last GTS builds were locked in for late Nov.

correct

and the only differences I am aware of were:
1) that you were able to spec the lower section of th SD mirrors in gloss black ala GT3RS for MY16

2) Lava Orange was a color option too

3) GT Silver might also have been promoted to a std (cheaper) color option also

that's about it AFIAK

I don't think they changed GT Silver to standard; my 2016 GTS was a custom color with the added cost.

I wasn't 100% certain about that last one - I think I got it confused with the .2 ... where its a std metallic color now ... instead of a 'special' - sorry

I'm pretty certain about (1) and (2) though.

You sure are. And correct, it's now a standard option on the 991.2. That bothered me a bit after placing my order, but I'm over it. It's such a gorgeous color and works perfectly with the GTS.

On-Line Services option UN1 became free of charge as from about Sept 2015. Woo-hoo. But you still had to tick the box to get it.

I haven't yet figured out what this feature does.

Lower section on sport design mirrors available in high gloss black was also offered on the 16 GTS.

This really bothered me, nearly changed my mind on GT Silver but didn't, paid the $3k. When I saw it though, well worth it.
