New Owner - First Porsche - 2016 GTS
Hey guys, long long time lurker and despite my membership tenure I never purchased a Porsche before. Driven plenty, but could never come around to pulling the trigger.
I am financially conservative and while they were affordable in times past I just couldn't justify it. I am not a flashy guy as I do not like to spend the money. We live in a house that is half of what we can afford, my wife drives a Honda Pilot, and we coupon at the grocery store, but I am a sucker for deals. Honestly I still cannot justify it, I was back and forth the entire time, looking for a CPO deal, "downgrading" to an S, waiting longer etc..
Unfortunately the 991.1s cannot be ordered anymore and I found the perfect one so that was ultimately the tap I needed. I was driving myself and my wife insane with the constant indecision but all along the way moving forward with the BA at the dealer with this GTS right up to the delivery day. I decided to just stop thinking and sign the papers and it still does not feel real.
This will be a weekend car and honestly we will probably not drive it to get togethers with friends etc as we do not want to "show it off". We have some close friends and family going through some tough times and do not want to seem careless and out of touch. It will eventually come out but in due time. I even debated this post...
2016 GTS - Rhodium Silver - PDK - Leather - Sport design pkg - Premium Pkg Plus - 18way sport seats - Bose - Glass sunroof - Plus some minor options.
Driving home last night was unreal and a privilege as its been a long wait, I am very happy, and I have zero buyers remorse.
Here are some exterior shots. I will get better ones..

Great choice in color and model! Great discount on a 2016! I went with leather over alcantara on my GTS also and couldn't be happier. Needed those ventilated seats!

Congrats!! Looks awesome.. Welcome to the world of Porsche. Hate to break it to you but you will get plenty of dirty looks from other envious drivers, goes with the territory. The friends will act differently towards you when they find out about your new car. Don't let this bother you, enjoy your gorgeous car!

Very nice color and choice! I can totally appreciate your point of view as I'm very similar in your values and outlook in life. My daily driver is a Prius and my 991 GTS is basically a weekend only car, embarrassing to say but I've owned the car for 4 months and just barely broke 1,000 miles. However I love it, it's my second 911 GTS, first being a 997 GTS. Anyhoo welcome Porsche ownership, as you may already have experienced people here are really warm and inviting, tons of great information that's shared and obviously we all share the common interest of loving Porsches!

Very Nice! Congratulations and drive it in good health. I understand your hesitation about getting the car due to the "extravagance" but you know what? once you get behind the wheel of your car, all your doubts/hesitations will evaporate. Enjoy it without any guilt!

I can relate with your story, but to tell you the truth I don't really care what people think. The losers and haters are the ones who always will criticize success. I can't stop smiling and feeling great every time I turn on the key and listen to the engine at cold start. Needless to say over 6K RPMs. I have never modified any of my previous M cars but with the GTS I have installed a clear bra full hood, front fenders, front bumper and mirror caps. Also, I added the Rennline mesh grill, your coolers will thank you. For me it's a keeper! Enjoy it and congratulations!
