Default 991.1 GTS Radiator Cover Templates

Thinking about trying my hand at this DIY project over the Winter months. I've seen the RL threads on the subject. Has anyone loaded a template that can be downloaded and printed off the 'Net?

Suggest you search 6 Speed. There is a DIY there.

Thanks! Creating a template out of thin gauge wire is perfect. Beats sourcing a PDF template. Here's the 6Speed link for anyone interested:

I wonder why people install these grills, is it the look? Is it to protect the radiator? I hope its not to protect the radiator because that would be a waste of $$. A small stone or other small road debris will go right through it. I asked a senior tech who has been working at the same dealer since the 991 was launched. He has seen two radiators damaged out of hundreds of cars going through the dealer in the last 5 model years. He encouraged me not to waste my money. He also told that the two killed radiators belonged to the same car, terrible luck for that owner.

its a different story if you track your car - much more chance of ingesting
debris into the rads ...

Carrera, did the tech elaborate on how/why the screens were penetrated? I assume they should work under most circumstances as they come OEM on the GT3.

Can anyone comment on the gauge thickness of the OEM screens? That should set a minimum threshold.

My last C2s had no grilles and I was for ever pulling leaves, twigs and the odd small stone out of the inlets. Both of my radiators were showing signs of damage, not enough to cause a problem, but evidence enough that they had been hit and are vulnerable. I did 22,000 miles in that car.

I have Rennline grilles on my GTS.

I installed mine because of crap like this. When I took the nose off I had rocks all over the garage floor.

Even found a metal clip next to the other radiator.

Plus it gives the front a finished look especially after giving the radiators a light coat of black paint.
