Question Hood Release Question

I think I read somewhere that on newer 991s it's possible to open the hood (front trunk) without having to stick your fingers underneath and play with the safety latch.

Is this true? Or was I imagining it?

And if it is true, can it be retrofitted to cars that don't have it? I would pay a couple hundred dollars for this for sure.

I don't think so. It is a safety feature when the lever was pushed accidentally. It is better to have that safety latch than having your hood smack to your windshield when driving.

Don't think so, and agree with ChoyV.

Feature of the Entry and Drive option, don't think you can retro? I had it on my '13 C4S but as other mention it only seems to work if you have the keys in your pocket while washing the car..... Wouldn't bother!

Even with Enter and Drive you need to reach under and flip the latch for safety.

I'm sure Entry & Drive is what you're thinking of. If you can get the hang of it, that option allows you to "pop" the frunk hands free with the key in your pocket. But you've still got to reach under and release the safety latch.

Drove me crazy today. What exactly do you need to do to activate the frunk hands free?

I just wave the back of my hand below the emblem (over the front bumper cover) maybe 2-3 inches over the surface. Key in pocket too of course.

There are instructions in the manual as well but that usually works for me...

Wave hand back and forth slowly in the circled area, just below and a little to the left of the emblem.

I don't mean to be a smart *** but mine rarely ever works when I want it to, but put on a front license plate or wash the front of the car and it works so well you have to take your key into the house. I would be interested in disabling it - any ideas?
