Default Front License Plate Mount Comparison

I need to get a front mount license plate (Tow Hook type) and I've read a dozen threads here but still can't figure out which one looks best.
I was leaning toward the lightweight USMillworks but today I saw one made by GrimmSpeed on a Lexus, I emailed the company but they don't know if it will fit. They asked for specs. like thread pitch, length etc. I have no idea...

It just looked perfect on the car, like it wasn't even there.
Rennline's looks like it comes out a little too much compared to USMillwork, what do you guys have?

p.s. yeah I know some of you live in states that don't require it and some of you don't care, but I'm looking to get feedback from members that do have it.

I use US Millworks for my 911 and Platypus for my two different Mercedes. The Millwork option is very high quality and does not stick out to far. I would use Millworks for the Mercs if they made them for my cars.

If you want to help Grimm Speed, send them a picture with a ruler next to your tow hook not installed in the car and another with a ruler showing how far the tow hook protrudes while installed. This is how I determined if the the Platypus works on my Mercedes.

I have the same one you do, Frank. Love it! You really can't even see it....virtually invisible.

P.S. Virginia is a front plate state. My last two Porsches and Aston Martin, I have refused to drill the bumpers. One 'equipment' violation ticket since 2009 so that's 6 years. $ 75 fine. $ 12 a year to run without that tag in the front is cheap.

I use a US Millworks. Looks okay, I suppose, but not nearly as good as running without a front plate. Just didn't have a choice as I take the Queens Midtown Tunnel everyday and I was a sitting duck for the MTA cops who don't have much to do other than flag people over for tint and front plate violations.

Steve Jobs drove without a front or rear license plate, but hey that was in California.

Marc Andreessen , too ...never took the small temp regis paper off his front windshield , so his DD car always looked like it was " new " , for years

C'mon guys! I know it looks better without it but I'm not gonna waste time getting pulled over, it's not the 25 bucks it's an annoyance.

Yep, he drove a Mercedes SL and had a deal to get a one year lease from the dealer. Got a new one every year and never registered it.

California law allows to drive without displaying tags for a maximum period of 6 months:
"A vehicle displaying a copy of the report of sale may be operated without license plates or registration card until ... [a] six-month period, commencing with the date of sale of the vehicle, has expired."

This thread is very recently active and has many pics of different options, suggest you ask in there vs creating yet another thread on a topic that has been discussed to death.

3 pictures don't do justice on that thread, anyway I followed that thread and the reason why I started this one is because I just want to do a straight comparison between lightweight USMillworks and GrimmSpeed (if it's compatible). I don't want to get into another thread of "it shouldn't have a front plate".

So I used US Millworks on my 2014, below. I was pleased with it, but decided to go naked on the 2016.
