Not only that, I would worry a bit about how the tow hook mount would change the dynamics in a crash. They are stout and transmit the energy in concentrated form directly to the mount. The rest of the bumper is designed to absorb energy in a controlled crumple, and spread it out. I have a similar worry running around a track with a tow hook mounted, but that's usually a requirement and in that environment, it's the least of my concerns.
