Default Installing 997 GT3 RS seats in 991 GTS

Has anyone ever installed a set of 997 gt3 rs seats in a 991? I know I saw a thread but I cannot find it. I realize there will be some code error due to the issues that I read about before, however, I'm hopeful and determined to come up with a fix.
Thanks

I *believe* that the (GT2) Sports Buckets found in the 997 GT3 and RS were available as an option for 991s in RoW (outside N.A) and properly wired for the
991 harness.

The "easiest" thing to do would be to find a set and get them shipped and installed...

Thanks,

if you get the right seats its an easy DIY job, Ive done it in my 997 GT3's before.

If you dont get the seats with the right wiring harness then its MUCH more complex.

as I mentioned before, you have to order the Sports Buckets that were available RoW for the 991 ... as I recall the SB seats for the 997 are not compatible.

What is RoW? By the way, thanks for your advice. I have a line out of a us spec 997 gt3 rs. Sounds like they will be problematic ... mounting, wiring etc.

Rest of World.

I think you should seach this and the 997 GT3 forums there are previous threads discussing the issues with moving 997 seats to 991's ... my recollection
is that the wiring harness is not compatible and requires some changes to work.

I've been looking at this issue for over a year. From what I've gathered, the consensus is that the 997 sport bucket will physically bolt in to the 991 chassis, but the electrical wiring harnesses that control the occupancy sensor, airbags, etc. doesn't quite match up.

The Suncoast parts guys apparently gave up on coming up with a solution for installing the the 997 sport bucket in a 991 since there was a harness issue . About six months ago I spoke with a guy from a local Porsche race shop who said he was looking into a solution, but I never heard back. So from what I can tell, there's no warning-light-free way to mount Porsche OEM harness compatible seats in a U.S.-spec 991 Carrera. If there were, I'd be in line to purchase along with probably a dozen other Rennlist guys.

As I mentioned above, I believe that the (GT2) Sports Buckets were offered as an option on the 991 outside N.A (RoW) for some time, so if you could
obtain a set of those then you would be able to simply DIY install them
since they would already be compatible.

The only way you are going to be able to do that is to contact a Porsche
parts source outside N.A

I submit the following as evidence of the existence of Sports Buckets for the 991:

and this from the techquipment catalog:

note the sports buckets!

I think its a 996/7... but the seats are listed for the 991 on the GB techquipment site.
