could you not have removed the center blank from the SD bumper and installed the grille?

Not with the Rennline precut screens.

When you have or install a center radiator you get a smaller trim piece/duct that takes the place of the blank to direct the air.

Here's a pic of the blank compared to the Rennline precut screen.

Really good info! Looks like I'll need to order the extra radiator along with the mesh!

Plus the center radiator and trim pieces channel the air correctly for aerodynamics. That's why I installed the radiator. Looked into just doing the mesh, but you don't want a bunch of air being pushed into a huge hole into the bumper and nowhere to go. The trim pieces do narrow the opening as mentioned above.

Bought the 5 piece set from Rennline but I was not going to put the 3rd radiator. Do you think this is a problem running the car like that? I thought it would look more complete with all 5 pieces.

You know, I've always wondered if it's possible to just overlay the screen in front of the center filler panel with these kits, too...

They way our kits are designed it would be a little tricky to overlay it on top of the center radiator block-off panel on non-3rd radiator equipped cars. I have seen some customers cut the back of the center duct out and install our grill which looks nice if you are careful with the cutting.

The other option is to use just the center retaining frame, aka duct work, from a 3rd radiator equipped car. We currently have a couple listed and I am working on getting the newer 991 parts on our site now. They should also be readily available from your local dealership or favorite online vendor.

I considered this, but just went with the radiator and the two trim pieces. Wanted it done right.

Like I mentioned before, I hesitated just having a huge open hole in the front bumper without the proper air venting like it's designed to do with the radiator and full kit. The radiator fills up a lot of that space and the air is deflected into it and downward out the bottom of the bumper with the trim pieces. It's like a vent system.

Just having an open hole with a lot of air being pushed behind your bumper can't be good for aerodynamics and especially not good at 60, 80, or 100MPH +.

SGT991 I'm with you. If you are going to do the center mesh do the center radiator as well.

I'm very pleased with the look of the 4 piece mesh along with the center blank. Since the mesh kit I installed is black it's very stealth looking and really doesn't make a statement like the GT3 mesh.
