Finally - New GTS
Finally found a GTS to jump into from my '14 C2S. I found myself trying out a 991 knowing that I would want the next GTS release. Instead of waiting I pulled a trigger on a well optioned '14 C2S to hold me over until the GTS was announced. Being happy with my first Pcar I thought I would enjoy it for some years then Porsche had to go and announced the 991.2 engine change. After longing for the 997 GTS and confirming that the 991 GTS would be the last NA road going Porsche (outside of the GT cars) I was in deep search to find one. As most are finding out, they are not easy to find and even harder to get a "deal" on.
Well my search ended Friday and picked her up yesterday.
2016 Agate Gray Metallic with GTS interior
027 - Instrument Dials in Carmine Red
030 - PASM Sport Suspension
088 - GTS Interior Package
250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
276 - Auto-Dimming Mirrors
342 - Seat heating (front)
581 - Luggage net in passenger footwell
638 - ParkAssist (Front and Rear) with Reversing Camera
653 - Electric Slide/Tilt Sunroof in Glass
840 - SportDesign steering wheel
GQ - Black Leather Interior incl. Alcantara® GTS Package in Carmine Red
N0 - Agate Grey Metallic
P3H - BOSE® Audio Package
XHJ - PDK Gear Selector in Carbon Fiber
XXG - Clear Glass Taillights
ZAB - Ornamental Porsche Crest
Still on the fence with the Clear Taillights but that is an easy fix. I'm coming from Rhodium Silver so the upkeep may be a bit more.
First impressions after driving 1.5 hrs to pick her up in my '14 C2S
Looks: Very subtle but they just did it right on the GTS. I've been battling to find one that wasn't Black (Only color seemingly left in New England) The accents look so good on any contrasting color. Hips for DAYS!
Ride: shall I say on "normal" setting more pleasant? I had 14 ways and had to settle for a "downgrade" to the 4 way sport seats but the ride along with the "hug" just feels better. The ride home was a breeze and felt almost cushy even over rough roads. The seats or the suspension, maybe even both, seem like an upgrade.
Handeling: whatever they did made the steering feel a bit tighter. Maybe it's in my head but the turn in felt more direct and I noticed even over compensating and having to realign my steering angle compared to the ride down, expecting what I was use to.
Exhaust: Could it be better? I thought the sport exhaust on my C2S was the best it could get - nope.
She only has 160 miles on her so it will be some time to get into the meaty parts. There are noticeable differences with the power, delivery and linear-ness of the power kit. It just seems to glide and come together all too nicely.
Here are some shots: (I hadn't picked up my camera in over a year and felt compelled when taking her out today)

Great pictures and a beautiful car. Nice find! I think the clear tail lights look good on dark colors like yours.
And, right, how good is the sport exhaust?! I find that making sure it's on is a big priority for me when I drive mine.
Enjoy your first days with your brand new car!
