Default 911 Carrera S or GTS

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to get your opinion. I am ordering my first 911 in the next couple of weeks. I am trying to decide between the carrera s and the gts. I have spec'd the cars pretty similar with sports chrono package, pdk and such. The price difference is a $3-4K more for the GTS.

I am not sure which one to order and can't really find comparisons online.

Thanks.

If I am reading this right, you don't have 1 on order... And they are no longer making the GTS. I know they are on the Porsche website but I'd connect with a few dealers re their allocations....

No more GTS orders or 991.1 S orders. Only 991.2 S will be available for order. If you can find a dealer that has an open 991.2 allocation. If you want a GTS it will be on a lot somewhere if they all haven't been swooped up or as a CPO.

Good luck though. Either are excellent.

As Gio said, don't think you can order a GTS anymore, but assuming you're looking at one already built or in process, I can give you my input, as I went through the same process. For me, the difference boiled down to two things: wide body vs. narrow body, and wheel choices. The engine differences weren't material enough to make a difference to me.

I chose S in the end because I find the narrow body models wide enough already and actually prefer their look, particularly from angles. Second, I didn't care for the GTS wheel options and it was going to cost me $4k+ to swap out wheels after the fact. And the price difference in the cars I specced similarly were already about $8k apart, GTS being higher. So I went S. All personal preference really.

The Collection in Miami has a 4 or 5 new GTS in stock.... Don't expect a pleasant experience there, but if you are aching for a GTS, they have a small number to choose from.

X51, Black bits, Wide body and NA engine made the decision for me - well worth the premium imo (IF you can find one to your liking)

If you can find a GTS go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Amen. It's why I went for the GTS.

As others have stated, you can't order a GTS now. But if you can find one still available on dealers lot, go for it. The GTS is definitely worth the extra $$$.

A quick search on Cars.com revealed there are 74 GTS coupes in stock nationwide across all of the US. If the OP is really after a GTS, there may be a suitable build available immediately (+ shipping of course).

This could be the push to get you over the edge, but I think the headlight washer nozzles on the GTS are painted black.
