Default Back in a Porsche Again

orsche Owner Again
Hi All,
I've returned to the Porsche family from a 33 year absence! My wife and I purchased a 2014 991 Carrera 4s last week. Unfortunately with the snow falling and away from home for Thanksgiving, I haven't had a chance to drive it much more than the drive home from the dealer.
With the few miles I have had a chance to put on it, I am very impressed with the power and handling. I'll have to report back after a few hundred miles with a update.
One thing I'm curious about and maybe someone can answer, the car is sapphire blue with light blueish painted wheels with the PORSCHE lettering on the inside of one of the rear barrels. I've looked at hundreds of photos of 991 and have not seen one other car with those colored wheels. Does the factory custom paint wheels?
I've attached the only photo I have to date, taken at the dealership before I brought it home.

Happy to be back in a Porsche!

It looks great. Not sure about the wheels, but if you publish the VIN, I'm sure STG will run a build report for you showing all the factory options.

I hope you get to enjoy it a bit more soon

Welcome back. You have a great looking car. Painting the wheels the same color as the body is a factory option. If you go to the Porsche web site and configure a GTS, you'll see it under Wheel Accessories.

Got any more pics? If I recall correctly there was a RL member with a Sapphire Blue 991 that refinished his wheels to an odd blue-ish gray tone, maybe that is his car? Looks somewhat familiar.

Also awesome car too! I'm not at all biased either...

I'll do 100x better. I need to stop looking at so many cars.

6Speed Todd's old car. All custom mod work he did on the wheels and other tid bits after buying it. He never kept the car long. Went to an R8.

Man, they don't mess around when they say the Internet is forever. Why I don't even have a Facebook page!

Car has been for sale a while in CO. He sold end of May 2015 back to the dealer.

Anyway, congrats and welcome back to the OP!

Nice, I knew I recognized the wheels from somewhere. Funny too, those two threads have posts from the original and second owner... easy way to get some quick history on the car!

Checked out the build on the 6Speed thread. OP, you've clearly got a car built with love. I think the 'Porsche' script on the wheel barrels is a particularly nice touch!
