Time for a 991!

I have younger friends with 2 SUVs or 2 minivans. I'm always trying to convince them that you only need one "practical" car and one sports car, even if that sports car isn't a Porsche.

I have a 3yo and a 6yo that fit no problem in the 991 with a decent amount of "gear". Granted we have other cars for trips and heavy hauling but the 991 is as practical as any 2 door with little ones.

Life is too short. Get the 911 and enjoy until kids no longer fit in the back. Then get a Macan or similar until you can't hold off any longer and go back to the 911. For me it was less than a year

I have 3 kids. 8. 6 and 4. Prior to the 911 we had a GL450 and x5. The thought was to have the 911 as a fun car for tooling around town as we rarely take all 3 kids to the same spot. Ballet, soccer, basketball, golf school etc we usually need to divide and conquer. Well it's been 3 weeks with the 911 and I am now considering getting rid of the X5. It's a redundant vehicle with the GL.
The 911 has also been the most exciting thing my kids have experienced. They are blown away by the roof retracting and closing. I'm pretty sure the most excited I have seen my 6 yo was this Friday when I picked him up from school in the cab GTS. He got all his friends to the fence and I pulled right up. He was beaming. I was to knowing how much joy it brought to him.
Life is short. Get the 911. You won't regret it.

I had a college friend who grew up riding in the back seat of 356. Scarred for life. My favorite stories were those in which his father made him sit opposite of him in the back to better distribute the weight in the car. (I'm guessing the physics made sense to his father in the '50s.) Based on what I'm reading here, it's fun if the kids think it's fun.

I wish my Dad had a Porsche growing up.
Your friend could have had it worse and had to drive around this Buick in the 50's

It's either going to be the Cayenne or the Panamera in this case. And unlike the 911 the Cayenne and Panamera share a much steeper depreciation curve so there are Many Value's on the second hand market... that's if you don't mind getting a used car!

Mine did, which is what inspired my life long love of Porsche. It was our only car for a time while we were stationed in Spain, and so my sister & I (ages 5 & 8) rode in the back all the time. We didn't know any different. Then when my grandparents visited us it would be my dad and grandpa up front, and my mom & grandma in the back with me and little sis on their laps. So I always tell people the 911 will seat 6.

The only downside I have with the GT3 right now. No rear seats. With two young children, I don't want to rob them and myself of some nice memories. My SON LOVES cars, and that came naturally without any of my influence. Lucky him, he gets to take rides in a 911!

If you want to talk coincidences. In addition to being a physician in LP (which I assume you are by your moniker), my first 911 (a 996) was guards red with Savanna beige interior.
