Stop/Start Question

If your motor stops while you are still moving its NOT the stop-start 'feature.' Mine was stalling while still rolling--and sometimes would start itself back up again!
It turned out to be a bad fuel pump, now replaced under warranty. (at 11k mi)

I think the start/stop is kinda cool. Very restful at several minutes long stoplights here in trafffic-bound California. Unfortunately in summer with air conditioning on and over 100 degrees outside, it will restart on its own before the light finally turns green.
I seldom use it in town . . . but the coast feature with PDK is amazing. I pick up 2 to 3 mpg coasting down hills on an out of town trip. Gets up into the 30's mpg. One problem with the coast feature in traffic, you will coast into the car in front of you as there is no engine slowing you down when you lift off the accelerator and you will have to use the brake. I prefer being able to just clicking the PDK downshift paddle a few clicks to slow down and not needing to use the brakes. Just like a "Jake brake" on a big rig!
