Definitely worth doing to keep this great info source uncluttered. I am glad I am a member. It's worth the small investment for so much great information and comradery.

Default I'm in!

I've been here since 2004. Tried to respond when I thought I could help. In those days, never joined because of a lot of negative responses and seemingly nasty trollers. This past year, have met some great people here, learned a lot, and it's totally worth the small fee to be a member and keep this great community going. I'm proud to be a member and thanks to all of you who have responded and helped me in the past year.

I occasionally see a "lifetime member"--is that offered to everyone and what's the cost?

There's a thread about it that just got started a few days ago on the GT3 board. I guess in the early days, the original owner of the site offered it to some people before it was bought by Internet Brands.

There's some complaining there about the shortfalls of Rennlist, but the BENEFITS outweigh any of them. It's not like I'm not going to not join because of them. Seriously? There's always something to complain about isn't there?? Usually for things a lot more expensive than a $32.00/2yr membership here! That's less than a tank of gas. Really?

It's nice to hear some of the appreciation here regarding what we've gotten out of it personally.

In addition to what STG991 said, lifetime was also offered years ago through a charity event by John D; Rennlist's founder. Sometimes lifetime if still given to a Rennlister for going above and beyond to help someone else; ie, paying it forward.

Thumbs up

I gained a ton of valuable info from Rennlist that really informed my choices when ordering my car. I joined for two years!

Likewise, so many knowledgable people and so much information not available elsewhere. Well worth the $32/2year - a bargain really. Highly recommended.

Cheers, -Peter

I subscribed back in April when I ordered my 2016 991.1 C2. I only subscribed for a year as a "test drive." It is now my most-frequented site. I don't post much but I read everything. I have learned much and will definitely re-up for the two-year stint. The site is a gold mine of useful information.

Then why are you listed as a "user"?

It would be nice if it was 100% required, but I can't control that. I think it would keep things a bit more civilized at times in my opinion.

Anyway, I show my support and do it personally.

$17.95 1yr. or $32.00 for 2yrs. It's not a bank breaker, and the free education here is priceless
Just came over from 6 Speed. Looking forward to participating.

Welcome to the board! There's a lot of good information here, and a lot of good guys willing to help with advice.

I really think the breadth of knowledge here is priceless.

I don't mean to put you on the spot, it matters nothing to me if you are a member or not, but you can "Ignore" posts be any user you choose when you are a member (that is, their comments won't show up in a thread you are reading).

I think it was a particular charity, something near to him, that he asked contributions for. About the same time, or shortly thereafter, he sold the site but before doing so, as an appreciative gesture, gave those who donated lifetime memberships. I don't remember if this info was in a Sticky or a thread. The full details may be buried somewhere in the history if anyone cares to dig for it. There used to be many more lifetime members but, as is typical for any forum, people wander away (in some cases because they have had enough after the 270th thread on Motul v. Mobil1 v. Royal Purple).
