I went with DBM on my 2016 C2 991.1. I am very happy with it. My wife thinks the Midnight Blue Metallic on the 991.2 may be more to her liking, although she picked DBM.
I had a red and now have a white 991 - I love both colors. Both stayed clean really well and you don't see swirls or minor imperfections.
The black plastic trim pieces bother me more on the red car (the underside of the mirrors, the front 'grill') etc.... One the white car, the constraint looks better and the black bits don't bother me.
The white car stays really clean in dry weather, but after rain, the dirty spots are more noticeable against the white paint.
I do think white is the current 'good resale color' and don't see that changing for a few years.
I will never own a black car again, they are impossible to keep looking good.
To my eye, Guards Red has too much orange it. I really like White and Carmine Red.
I feel exactly the opposite. Carmine makes the 991 look a bit bloated, as opposed to Guards Red, which comes across fresh and timeless.
Still, both are amazingly nice colours on the 991.
For me red wins over white on the 991, but the gts in this thread and a bog standard carrera I saw on the street a while ago looked amazing. Do not like metallic whites on a 991, far to feminine to my taste.
My dealer told me that Black was, by far, their best selling color for the 911. Perhaps you could find out what are the best selling colors in your area and get something different.

I just did the Porsche Factory Tour last week and they said 60% of the cars are black.
