Default Trunk money...

Based on what I've been hearing about 2015s, there must be some trunk money out there.

Does anyone know the amounts?

It's running across the Mexican border.

Now, why can't we add this into an existing thread like it was in the first place? Do we need to bog up type boards with new threads for every random thought?? Basic RL etiquette.

This was just just discussed in the 15% discount thread with your participation

Just quit the craziness. You might as quit now if that's your attitude.

By the way, Porsche doesn't use Groupon either.

Good night!

I think we established discounting thoughts in the 15% thread and trunk money was part of it. However, as we move into November / December and more information comes out, the thread title may spark some additional responses with updated information. Not that trunk money levels from 2014 aren't relevant but I would like real time data which this thread may have if we haven't scared everyone away.

I'm in buying mode in the next few days so I appreciated the new thread. Hope you can manage to see a few more posts on the topic.

You guys are missing something in how to buy cars...you want the car watch the prices, find the car you are after pretty much now used or CPO or sitting...if not a GTS (holding better) an S will be less. Put in a damn offer if a car has sat. Yes the 15s are dropping...duh...but it is not a game of what the dealer has to make them money still...you have to make an offer and have a trade or not and make a deal that works. I bought my 14 in April for a min of 5 to 10K less than the same car at a P car dealership any distance from where I bought it then with 2600 miles (exactly one year old and exactly 30K off sticker...but even more as they held on price there at 30 down from sticker new which was already awesome, they upped my trade to play accounting games to get to where I wanted to be). The next best car was 5K more for less car. And I traveled to get it...your dealer nearby may not have the best price...you need a national perspective as there is many volume dealers vs jacking up prices so depends on where you are too. Within 400 miles of me it is a swing any day of 5 to 10K for the same car depending on the dealer (I'm in FL so south FL is more than central or north FL). Its a game and dealer discounts etc, trunk what ever the hell... the car will be min 2 to 3 grand cheaper ever month you wait. Do you want to drive the car now or save 3k more if you wait ten minutes or if that is the issue check the other thread of what the heck income should you buy a Porsche at? If you can buy it buy it...in 6 months it will be 10K less...buy it then or buy it now and drive it. That's how it works.
And if you leave the forum after you buy it well that's a mistake but it seems you do not care anyway. The adds to my car since and understanding of the things I needed were all gained from here after the fact. Now I am happy with my car after doing a good amount to it post purchase.

What? Do you maintain the RL website? Have a financial stake in the company? Somehow voted as the manager of the 991 forum?

You don't like this thread? Why are you commenting on it? Do you know what good "RL etiquette" is? Not jumping on a thread and calling it superfluous. You think this is a silly thread? Don't read it. Don't post in it.

This is a public website managed by the RL moderators. Anyone has a right to post what they want - if the mods don't like the thread we will know soon enough.

STG991 has probably initiated the sales of more preowned 991's for Rennlisters than you can ever imagine.

He walks the talk......

1. I actually do have a small stake in the company (see below). Do you?

2. I as well as most guys here don't mind giving people advice on buying a new car for themselves.

3. I think most regular Rennlisters find it easier getting something out of this forum without having to dig through repetitive posts. The simple search function works well. Unfortunately with the internet everyone wants a magic answer more quickly than the 5 minutes of research it would take them. Makes you wonder how people survived before computers and the Internet. It wasn't that long ago.

I'm new to the community and STG991 has been very helpful to me during my short time on the forum. I understand he carries a lot of respect from the community which he has certainly earned. Fair enough.

I also think we should respect people's posts regardless of our personal frustration with them. If you don't want to read about the title then move on. IMO there is no need to air your frustration on the actual thread if its not breaking any RL rules, which it clearly is not.

There has been a lot of talk about discounting lately as all the 991 allocations were suddenly pulled into production. I felt burned on my deal and I want to be sure I'm not leaving any money on the table when purchasing a 2015. This thread is relevant to me and is not for others.

I'm sure that if and when I get my P-car my discussions will shift away from pricing.

Let's talk on and if anyone hears anything about the thread topic, "Trunk Money" I am one who would like to hear about it. Jokes about butt surgery costs are welcome as well.

There are at least two great Rennlisters on this site who are Porsche dealership salespeople. If you want the inside scoop, maybe PM then and ask. I'm sure they'll tell you.

Bret from Sonnen. And John Wright from, I forget the dealership, but you can find him in our Vehicle Marketplace.
