The 50th I purchased last year was a loaner to someone waiting for there GT3 (stop sale). I was first title holder and it came with a CPO good through 2020. Make a firm offer of 15% off and tell dealer to include a CPO if warranty was punched months ago.02 T

Could be wrong, but I believe when they punch the warranty and call it a demo it counts as a sold unit, so it helps them with dealer holdback dollars, and helps boost dealership sales figures, which rewards them with more allotments. Something like that. I know that back in summer of 2009, when the economy sucked and they couldn't move the leftover 997.1s, they were doing this like crazy.

Selo got it right. Porsche and other car companies provide dealership with incentives throughout the year to promote sales depending on the number of units sold for a month or a quarter etc. One of the incentives is cash money and that depends on the the number of units that the dealer sells and sometimes it is model specific. So a lot of dealers punch one or more cars ie report them sold to porsche so they max out their incentive for a month or quarter.Once that is done the warranty starts from that date. So whenever you are buying a left over car always ask if it was punched in and most dealers will tell you the answer though sometimes they don't volunteer the information off the bat. Few dealers don't punch cars in so warranty is still full, but these are dealers that are usually not willing to discount cars significantly and this is why sometimes you see a 2014 new car on lots. To me a 2015 that is punched in with 500 miles should be priced similar to a used 2015, and this will give you an idea on discount. Close to 15-20 % rather than 10 %.
