in shade it is the orangy color of the door panel in the first pic of this thread .....in bright sunshine it changes to a flatter salmon hue , like the frunk lid in this same pic :

White balance is a common problem in photography. Those German plates in their whiteness are almost as useful as putting a white balance card.

I think federal law should demand that all pretty cars have white balance cards in the windows

Wow, that really looks like Guards Red in your picture.
Would be amazing to see Lava Orange/Guards Red/Carmine red together in one picture under the same lighting conditions.

Here's part of that comparison:

In the above picture I do like the orange, but I do wonder how it would come to life in less sunshine.
In the sunny picture above LO seems to go well with the elegant shapes of a Carrera to my eye.

I have seen all three at the same time (lava, guards and carmine). My choice, in order would be:
#1. Carmine
#2. Carmine
#3. Carmine
The lava didn't look as good to me as I had hoped it would. And I've never been a fan of Guards. But I'm not really a red/orange car fan, so I don't get a vote.

I really like this color. My favorite red/orange hue.

I like the color but looks more salmon in real life.
I wouldn't recommend you order it without seeing it in person.

+1 you really need to see it in person, the color changes depending upon lighting and "color temp" ... I think its fair to say that most photo depict
it much more red/orange than it appears ...

They had one at the local dealership, under led lighting, it looked red orange (no hint of salmon). Didn't get a chance to see it in sunlight.

I saw one at RSR-V in direct sunlight ... much less red/orange than in artificial light

It's not my favorite. I think Lambo/McLaren have way better oranges.

I looked at a Lava Orange 991 at the Fresno Porsche Dealer . . . it is definitely a color someone should see in person before ordering. Sure seemed like salmon to me.
It is still in inventory after several months . . .
