@Birkinjay - I had this and it ended up being the sway-bar bushing.

How did you diagnose the cause without removing the bushes? I couldn’t find any play in the bushes 😩

Dealer dropped the entire sway bar, sound went away. Replaced the ends.

Could you test drive without sway bar?
by the way, do you have PDCC?

This is a pretty nuclear approach fwiw - should be able to disconnect one or both end links and leave the bar installed (but tied up if both ends removed)

They said they test drove it that way…I’m sure a bit gingerly.

No PDCC on mine.

I'm finding that my 991.1 exhibits a clunking sound at low speed from the rear. It's almost like a popcorn popping sound. Would the swaybar bushings be a likely culprit?

highly likely the bushings on the drop links... although you might also want to lubricate the bushings in the swaybar mounts themselves ... with the appropriate (silicon) lubricant

Thank you! I'm replacing my variocam solenoids soon so I'll lubricate the mounts when I'm under there.

also check the drop links to ensure they are tight and there is no wear in the bearings which could cause a noise

Thank you! I will definitely do a more thorough inspection. It'll be a good excuse to take the rear wheels off and clean up all the road tar and such.

Does this one seem normal?
(PDCC droplink)
I asked 3 mechanics, they said it’s normal. But it seems not normal for me. If it was a normal drop link, it barely move at the joint here right?

Ps. I am still finding the cause of my clunking noise😣.

If it was floppy or you could rattle it within the joint itself .... then it would be wore out.
