Default Smoking Package Option

Is there a way the dealer can add the the smoking package option if you don't have it. If you have a radar detector that is not wired efficiently then it is a long way for the cord to go from the windshield to the outlet under the glove compartment. Those of you that have radar(not wired) do you just use the lower side outlet and deal with the cord? Appreciate the answers.

Your best bet is to have an electronics shop hard wire a power supply and run it up to the mirror area. They go along and the headliner and pillars and hide everything.

Any stereo install shop or Best Buy type of place can handle this sort of simple task. Just don't look for a guy off of Craigslist!

It can be done, but will cost you. What I did was to buy a 8 foot straight cord for radar detector (get from ebay or escort, but ebay is cheaper) run it into the headliner and down the A pillar to the outlet under glove box. Nice and clean and you don't have a wire hanging down the center of your dashboard.

Everyone talks about running a cord into the glove box outlet, but there's another 12V outlet in the passenger side footwell, imo, it's much easier to hide everything.
