What a gorgeous car!

I have a Guards Red 993 C2 coupe in which I have yet to even be stopped. I also had (now sadly gone) a Peridot Green Metallic 987 Cayman R in which I was stopped several times, but no tickets. I also have a Sapphire Blue Metallic 991 GTS coupe. I was recently stopped in the Adirondacks of New York by a state trooper. We had a friendly and very interesting chat. He used his instant-on radar to clock me, even though I was using my Escort Redline. He was an Iraq/Afghanistan veteran. I have veteran plates on the Porsches and a small Vietnam service ribbon sticker on my rear window, both of which probably help. I realize that every stop these guys make presents a significant risk to them, especially state troopers, who are nearly always alone. I make sure I have both hands on the steering wheel and the interior lights on. There is every reason to be courteous, polite, friendly and honest. I figure if I leave out all the bs at least it won't add to the weight on the ticket side of his/her decision about ticket/no ticket. BTW, I have received two speeding tickets in the last 3 years, both in MA, and both strongly deserved. One in a light blue/silver metallic BMW 3 series and the other in my old primer gray spray-can-painted '91 BMW e30. In each case I was stupidly driving in a way that reflected my agitated state of mind when I let other road users' bad driving cause me to react. Never a good idea! For some reason, maybe because I anticipate it, I'm able to let other drivers do whatever they want when I'm driving a 911, or any other Porsche. Staying as far away as possible from other drivers seems to be the safest way to avoid both accidents and tickets. I think someone else on Rennlist once mentioned that most police officers like to drive and therefore have some interest in cars. Porsches are very interesting, to say the least.

This is true, and there are plenty of statistics to prove it.

However, there are also statistics that show that people who buy brightly colored sports cars tend to have the type of personality that is known to occasionally bend the laws when it comes to speed!

I have done a little DIY work on my car since I bought it about two months ago:
-- Rennline Grill Mesh in Black (3 piece to cover the 3rd radiator too)
-- Brake Pads in the rear and replace brake flush
-- Oil Change
-- Ordered BMC air filters and cabin air filters to arrive next week. I know the air filters are not due until 40K miles but hope this will allow the engine to breath better and sound better.

Doing the work on the car myself helped me to see some issues. Like a bolt missing on the bumper cover bottom and one on the front fender well to the bumper cover. Also found a grommet missing on the engine cover holding the two fans.

Perhaps the best money I ever spent was on Wheel Mounting Guide Bolt from Suncoast. I bought this when I bought the brake pads and am I glad I did (

+1 A mate of mine just took delivery of a new Z07 C.7R spec - 'Vette racing yellow. Major cop magnet, I surmise.

But yeah, I think red and yellow tends to make one's car stand out like dogs' ball

I have been thinking the same goes re Lava Orange as I am leaning that way for a 991.2.

Adding aerokit wing etc also prob does not help!

I think your ok with LEO as long as you don't put on gloss black wheels. With your OEM silver wheels it just looks like a passive doctor's or business type's Sunday cruising car. With black wheels, it screams I'm hot and fast!!

Yes did all the work myself. About 3 hours for the grill mesh, about four hours for the back brakes (bleeding the air was half the problem), oil change about 1 hour. I feel that I know a lot more about my car now as we got close during the process.

I would say being in a Red or Yellow car then white and gray is more likely to be pulled over as both colors, Red and Yellow, GRAB the attention more so than a simple white or gray. I wouldn't call it a magnet though for getting a moving violation. I would correlate that to driving behavior! As in driving Very fast and constantly moving in and out of traffic as in changing lanes would afford you to be pulled over more often.

I did not take photos because others had done such a nice job of it. I do not have parking sensor.

No worse than any other P car I have owned. The color does raise your level of awareness while driving.

Its driving behavior that will get you pulled over as previously stated. Speeding, lane changing with high frequency and following too closely behind the car in front of you... don't be a butthole tailgater!
