Thanks guys. Good suggestions so far. Car was supposed to be finished early September. I know I could call my SA and find out where it is but I thought it might be fun to be a little surprised.

A month late since waiting since April. That doesn't sound like "fun" to me.. I would be all over these clowns.

Jim - from whom are you buying?
If you're going south to Porsche of Santa Barbara, my experience with the finance manager was great. I gave her my now standard preface when we met - that I was going to decline everything she was about to offer to sell me - so we skipped the whole waste of time. It was nice. Printing and signing took all of 10 minutes.
With respect to the checklist, I think it's a walk around the car, activate satellite radio if that hasn't already been done, pair your phone since that takes two minutes, and you're out of there.
Are you on a boat yet?

Yes they do.
Also, it's rare, but check and make sure that the shipping blocks were in fact removed during PDI (they're hard to see with the wheel in place).

Any thoughts on what to look for re damage in the shipping process? Scratches on the front lip, nicks on the wheel rims., scuffs on the leather.
A dealer is not legally required to divulge damage to your car while being shipped or delivered to the dealership, unless the repairs exceed 6% of MSRP. If you suspect the car has been damaged and repaired, ask the dealer to confirm or deny this in writing. The dealer is legally required to answer your question truthfully, regardless of how superficial the repair.
Many years ago, one of my sons worked summers as a lot boy at a local Porsche / Audi / MB dealership. He told me that most of the cars sustained superficial damage while in transit, but they were repaired at the dock or dealership. Of course virtually no one ever asked about damage, so no harm, no foul.
