Default 991.2 Build

Trading in my car for a 991.2. Going from a 991 C2S 7MT.

http://www.porsche.com/microsite/por...px?c=/PH7BV357

I'm debating on SPASM. The 991.2 is 10mm lower than the 991.1 and SPASM would drop it another 10mm which is almost 1 inch lower than my 991.1. I don't want or need the front lift as I'm pretty careful. My big concern is bottoming out on back cruddy roads. Any thoughts?

I also confirmed today that PDK on the current C2S goes into a false neutral, so presumably the new one will too.

Thanks!

The 991.1 and 991.2 S's are the same height with and without SPASM. Both come standard with PASM.

Now all the BASE model Carrera's have PASM as well and are 10mm lower stock than previously on the 991.1

That's what they meant.

So what prompted your decision to get the new model?

Thanks STG that's really helpful. I know, I may have to change my name.

I know this sounds horrible but this is purely a weekend car, and there's a certain amount of fun in trying some new technology out. I've been to the factory twice and am very passionate about the brand; it's a huge outlet for me.

I know it makes no economic sense other than it makes me happy.

I think giving the new technology a chance (rear-wheel steering, more lower end torque, [and purely personal non-judgementally trying out PDK]) will be an adventure and I'm really looking forward to it!

Very little of what makes us happy ever makes economic sense!

May I ask where you are located and what dealer you are working with? I contacted about 6 dealers looking to place an order and they all want to wait for allocation.... Or work through the inventory of .1s first.... Not sure...
Thank you

Good for you

So how many miles you have put on the 991.1?

Sounds great that you are going for it and your reasoning is right on. I can't wait for the reviews after you take delivery. Good luck I'm sure you will love it.

Interesting - I'm going with the 991.2 FOR the 7MT - my current car has PDK. What's the neutral you are talking about? Pulling both paddles to make it go into neutral?

I'm waiting until December to put the order in so I can hopefully get delivery in late March early April as I live in the Northeast and wouldn't be using the car during those months anyway. I agree putting an order in today for a December build would be hard, if you're willing to wait a little my understanding it is it shouldn't be an issue.

I had 7,150 on it and had it for slightly more than 2 years.
