Yes. So I realize how sophomoric this is, but one of the things I really is blipping the throttle a little, let's say if I happen to be in slower moving traffic - you know just to break up the monotony.

As its been explained to me, when you release the paddles you go back into whatever gear the transmission thinks you should be in for that speed. So I don't believe you can really rev it and then say have it start in a predetermined gear.
