I have never heard the Burmester compared to the Bose. I went with the Bose option. But just wondering how the two compare. I suppose, night and day!
Bose is almost the same as standard radio. I sat in both back to back at the dealer and couldn't notice a difference and many on here feel the same. Now the Burmiester is on another level. My friend has it in his c4s. Sounds unreal. The clarity is one of the best I've ever heard.
Yup, totally different, not even comparable. Though I don't agree the Bose is equivalent to the standard radio. I have the Bose in my Cayman and the standard base HD radio in my 991. There is a huge difference between those two as well.
I went with the Bose in the GTS and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it sounds compared to my 997.2. Haven't heard the Burmester except at the dealer. Also sounded Great but I wouldn't pay for the premium over the Bose.
I have the Bose in my 911. The base radio is an embarrassment in a $100K car. The Bose is not much better. Have not heard the Burnmester but I would never spend that amount money in a sport's car. I'd rather put the money into my 2 channel at home.
I recently purchased a 2012.5 991 C2S with Burmester and while it sounds amazing when I'm stopped or idling, it's often drowned out by a ridiculous amount of road noise when on the move. The car has 12k miles on the original set of PZeros but they're nearly brand new with the tread depth is still at 8/32nds on the rears and 10/32nds on the fronts. If this is normal, I'd argue that the Bose would probably be adequate given the noisy driving conditions.
I have the Burmester in my 2013 991 S Cab and it was a waste of money in the Cab. The Bose in my Macan is far better sound however, a Cab is not the best sound venue so to speak. The Bang & Olufson in my wife's Audi S5 Coupe is far superior sound wise.
As to tires, Porsche specified to Pirelli that to get N rating the rear tires had to have 17,000km (around 11,00 miles) life to get the N rating. You're way ahead of the game at 12k miles and so little wear. I only got 12.5k miles before having to change the rears.
I've been a Bose basher for years but in my 2015 I have to admit they've gotten better and for cranking up a low quality source such as an mp3 or satellite it's certainly adequate.
I am not sure but the one I heard was more than good. I won't pay for the Burm. upgrade. If I need some tweeters or a power amp, not that big of a deal. Even a better sub. Don't want to drown out that NA sound lol
I don't care about volume so much as I do the quality of the sound.
