looks like total 911 production is tracking about the same in '15 as '14 per this release from Porsche today

I get the appeal of PTS when building a new car - customize everything including color.

But when buying used, you're limited to such a small pool of cars, and of that pool, you may or may not like any of the colors chosen by previous owners, right?

I'm asking honestly, as I don't know why the OP wants a PTS car in particular and didn't specify any color preferences, I.e. What am I missing here?
Chances of passing yourself is nil.
Makes the mass produced 911 categorically rare.

911-AL, there have been several awesome PTS 991s for sale in the past 5 months. Even as close as Springfield. Why didn't you jump on any of those?

As sweet as it looks, I would live with non PTS, and drive a GT 3 for that money.

I'm keeping an eye on askings. As you all know, a 991.1 C2S and C4S have come down in price averaging in the 70-80k range with some as low as 60's. I am looking for a nice earlier (even 2012.5 is fine) 991 for a fair price. I'm not paying a large percentage about market just for a color since I typically only have cars for 18 to 24 months.

I rarely see any PTS 991.1 S/4S's come up. Finding one in the $60-80K range is impossible. This search will be going on a LONG time.

Ones that pop up are usually low mileage and in the $100K+ range.

I think you are right on this. I'm going to keep an eye on listings in the thread that you created.
