Default Hood Protector?

As a new Porsche owner (2014 991), I'm trying to learn all the "in" things that come with long term knowledge. Have any of you bought this:

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/DAS991.html

the hood protector? Is it worth having?

I have one in my car and think it is worth it - prevents sgnid (reverse dings).

I have one. It pops right on and prevents reverse dings. Also have the plastic tub that protects the frunk.

Got this and the liner. Well worth it.

Other thing besides add the sport design aerokit to my car I did and would do the Burmiester tweeter switch out if you have the regular sound system.

Default Hood Protector?

Anyone actually have a ding happen??

Overpriced for a piece of plastic IMO.
Just don't put stuff in the frunk that goes above the level of the rubber gaskets.
The family is well aware and I don't expect strangers to be loading my frunk with goods.

At least it looks cool against lighter colors Around last Christmas they had a special on them (ordering direct). Picked one up then. Lid Liner posts on here too occasionally.

Seems like a few pieces of 1/2" adhesive foam would do the trick -$200 for that gizmo seems a little overkill. Also curious if anyone had gotten an internal ding.

An internal ding would be an external ding too.

I'm very careful regardless, but was just one of those overkill things we love

@STG Thanks for posting the link. I ordered one for my 718 GTS 4.0 today, and the promo code still works.

I have it & I think it's helpful but still over-priced IMO.

quite a few things porsche related is overpriced.

I bought one of these years ago for the 991.1 and transferred it over to my 991.2 when I picked it up.

I like the piece of mind that a buckle or something from a soft bag I cram in the trunk doesn't poke the hood.

I have the hood liner and frunk tub. I take my TTS to Costco (any excuse to drive it) and am convincing my wife it’s practically an SUV.
