I bought one and was pleasantly surprised at how good it looks against guards red

Nope, in neither of my 911s.

I happen to come across a Sterilite container that is a perfect fit for my 991 for under $20. And then I place my Coverking car cover which comes in a soft bag over the container.

I looked at those dedicated hood protectors for the 993 and there were a few things I didn't like about them.

I figured it was better to spend $200 on one and never need it. Rather than spend thousands on paint and bodywork because I didn't get it. Peace of mind so that I can enjoy the car even more.

Overpriced for a piece of plastic IMO.
Just don't put stuff in the frunk that goes above the level of the rubber gaskets.
The family is well aware and I don't expect strangers to be loading my frunk with goods.
I couldn’t agree more. This is a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.

i did have one of these on my 987.2 way back then and it provided a good surface for track map decals, stickers and such but that’s about all it was good for.

haven’t been to the manufacturer’s website since 2011 or so, but back then they used a photoshopped pic of the damage that this thing is supposed to prevent.

It's worth the peace of mind when you're carrying pointy things.
