Default Re: Graphite & Miami Blues...

In case any of you wanted to see what the new 'Graphit Blau' looks like,
I spotted & photographed the color 'Graphit Blau Metallic' during my visit
to Leipzig in late July & reported it here on Rennlist.

I believe it was the first time this color was discussed as possible new
hue for Porsche! I am glad they finally have announced it's a new color
in the Porsche 991 palette!

More photos of the 'Graphite Blue' Boxster at post # 153 in thread linked below:

Good pick-up. I had not noticed that. The dark carpet appears to be standard on all the two-tone interiors now. It used to be a $710 "deviating" option.

Eduardo, what do you think - Miami Blue looks very similar to one of my all-time Porsche favorites, Aetna Blue. Miami appears to be a bit darker which I like. It's a bit less "baby blue". I configured it with the new red/black interior and think it looks awesome. Very retro but not for everyone I'm sure.

Having owned Aetna blue, to me Miami blue is much more saturated in comparison, with some green in it.

For a few of us who have been irritated that we can't get Aquamarine on a 911, it looks like Graphite Blue could be a compromise.

Thanks for those pictures / link. Graphite blue looks a little dull and flat in those pictures as opposed to the shiny pictures provided by Porsche for the press release and website which are obviously photoshop enhanced. Can you comment on your experience having seen it in person ?

Is the current graphite blue metallic the same as on this Porsche SC coupe from 1983?

note that the PCCB option is now the GT3/4 410&380mm config ... I think Porsche are "standardizing" on that to reduce costs ... damn them!

Default I thought 'Graphit Blau' looked elegantly striking in person...

Nein! It's a 'designer color' formulated NEW and it's quite different!
The design fashionistas at PAG today don't care much if a name
for a color has been used before. None of them were even born
in 1983 and they seem to have no interest in 'color history'!

In my opinion, after seeing it in person in the course of a day at Leipzig,
I can tell you that 'Graphit Blue Metallic' is anything but dull. It was a
particular grey/rainy day at Leipzig during my visit...but the color stood
out from afar as 'elegant', 'quietly beautiful' & 'striking'. It caught my eye
immediately and that is why I asked my contacts at Leipzig for the name
of it right away. Luckily, they were OK with letting me know...and thus
the reason we were able to break the news of that unusual new 'color'
right here on Rennlist, even though we didn't know it would be offered
in the .2 991 just a short time later!

It would have seem brighter on a sunny day...I am sure of that!
I think it will be a winner. And the fact that Porsche has committed
a whole interior leather combination in its name - Graphite Blue &
Chalk Leather - tells you that PAG has high 'take-rate' expectations
for this new exterior color offering!*

* Although the two-tone 'Graphite Blue/Chalk' interior could be
combined successfully with a few other exterior colors in the
.2 991 palette.

It looks better in your pictures than the configurator, thank you for posting! Is this a different blue than the one they are using in the press photos of non-S?

When I was spec my GT3 I noticed the switch as the newer 911's were being updated on the configurator. I mentioned that to my SA and he said "you saw that?" I SEE IT ALL BABY! I thought I'd be an *** where the GT silver is zero on the GT3 RS - now std on the 911 but I can get a last GT Silver for $3k.. psshh

you guys could always cancel your order / not accept - get more off the sticker since your color is now not exclusive.
