I love my cap. Super easy install. All the gas stations are self serve here in Alberta, oh well maybe the guy next to me will notice my $190 gas cap...lol

What the heck, you convinced me. I told my SA to add it as long as it doesn't delay delivery. Lock date is Feb 3rd.

Anyone thought about spray painting their gas cap silver instead of paying $190? A quality can of silver spray paint would cost at most $10. Just a thought.

Almost 100 threads on a $200 silver-colored, plastic gas-cap that is hidden under a metal fuel door...

/yes I have one
/no one sees my titanium-look engine cover with carbon fiber "Exclusive Powerkit" inserts, either...

Wurth makes a great line of metallic silvers and greys, meant to make things that aren't metal look metal. My hesitancy would be that gasoline is a great solvent and you usually have some on your fingers after handling the nozzle so you might be likely to dissolve the paint over time and create a mess. So I've chickened out and haven't tried it. Definitely would never spend $200 on the OEM version; and heck, I seem to waste $200 frequently but that's going to far even for me!

one of the better "total waste of money" easy mods out there

it does create a different fueling experience though

and, happy to bring the number to 100 in total posts for this thread

Risk of a delivery delay so I'm not adding it to my configuration at this point. I can add it later for $40.00 more than the factory price - plus I'll get to install it myself - so a DIY project on what will otherwise be a gas and drive affair.

Does the Porsche "Alumilook" one have the center pin for the holder when it's off?

Actually looked into this and was told they will not work. Theirs do not have the neck/stem that the 991 caps have and will throw a fault because car thinks the cap is missing. Don't know if true or not, but that was what I was told.
