I've inquired about a couple 2015 GTS "lot cars" the past couple weeks and both of them are about 5% off msrp. However, after inquiring, the dealers did get back to me about making an offer so i suspect there is more flexibility. There certainly not scarce if you are open to shipping cars, and either traveling to look at them or buying sight unseen which is ok with me given it's new.

You can probably hit 7% or just a bit over with some dealers. I'd be happy with 5-7%. You might have to be flexible if there aren't that many with your "near ideal" build. The GTS's have more similar builds compared to the other models on average. Shouldn't be hard to find one you like. Don't take anything under 5%!

You can ship a car coast to coast and in-between with great companies that offer enclosed delivery. Some of the same guys who transported your car from the port to the dealer.

They want to move cars. The GTS is by no means a limited car or in the crazy circus ring with the GT4/GT3/GT3RS.

Get a nice discount on a GTS and enjoy a great car. Come September/October they'll really be motivated to move them. To dealers it about moving cars and not having them sit on the lot too long.

Having just gone through the search for a 2015 GTS "LOT" car I can tell you for sure that the cars.com listing is NOT accurate. Many of the cars listed on cars.com are not available. The "official" Porsche dealer website has much more uptodate inventory but not easy to search new inventory. My car is still listed on cars.com but is not on the official Porsche dealer site. Use cars.com to find interesting cars then check availability on the dealers official Porsche website.

There are lots of convertible GTS lot cars but many fewer coupes. Most of the remaining coupe lot cars are "odd" builds or PDK. Very few manual build coupes available. That being said 5 to 8% off is doable on a lot GTS but takes a bit of work and luck. Many dealers I contacted where more in the 3 to 5% range and totally unrealistic. Many flat out told me the max discount would be 4 to 5% because they will be able to sell the car for more to someone else. In many cases they probably where right since ALL of the cars I inquired about (5) have since sold most in fairly short order. They were all nice builds, GTS2 manual with modest options (not strippers and not loaded) sticker prices in the 123 to 133 range.

I did finally find my grail lot GTS2 manual and got a great deal to boot. Took about 2 to 3 months of searching and dealer contacting. Not sure it's worth the time expenditure to save 3 or 4%, next time will probably order direct from the factory. Although the hunt is a big part of the fun I guess.

I agree that cars.com is not the most accurate if looking at new cars. Some dealers inventory gets put on there automatically whether the car is presold or not. Although, if they've taken the time to take real pictures of the car it's probably for sale.

If I was looking for one now, I will definitely try to find an open build slot to customize it.

Of all the GTS variations, TARGA is the hardest to find...... Hope that is by design by Porsche!
