Default Swapped steering wheel to Sport Design

Bought the wheel off RL classifieds and dealer installed it for $85.00. I was surprised on the fairness of the rate to install. Loving the new look and better functionality of the paddles. I for one hated the thumb shifters.

Before and after.

its a MUCH nicer wheel IMO ... and a must have if you have a PDK car and you want to shift manually

When I changed cars - the SD steering wheel was a must have. Looks great!

I would have thought it would have cost a lot more for that - nice work.

I just purchased a SSW and want to do the swap out myself. My dealer wants $300 for the swap. I think its steep but it was the lower of the 2 prices I got. I purchased the the wheel with the airbag. Do you know if it was a simple change or does the dealer need to reset the PCM (PIWIS).. Thanks

It depends what wheel you are replacing. If your original wheel was heated or multi function, the dealer will have to deal with the PCM at time of the swap. Mine had neither, so was a piece of cake. Also, the airbag is interchangeable, so swap the old to the new.

Great.. I have no heat or multi function. Can I do this myself or does the dealer still need to do it.

You can do it yourself. There's a YouTube video of it being done. I don't like messing with airbags. My dealer charged me $85 since it was a simple job. Was the way to go for me. May want to call a different dealer to see if you can get a better price.

Dealer did mine. Used same airbag. Did the nicer shifter too.
