You won't go wrong either way, but I've got the GTS interior package with the Carmine red stitching and IMHO, it looks fantastic! It's not over the top. But it is distinctive and all of the red accents really make the interior pop, in my view. You have to like alcantara (I like it) and be able to live without ventilated seats (which were nice, I had them on my two previous 991s). If you do spec the GTS package, you should consider getting the sport design steering wheel in leather; it'll wear better than the alcantara version.

You had to get the painted PCM! That really looks terrific, nice selection Larry

Jeff, your Targa makes me drool. Can't wait to see your daytime photos.

Man this is a hard choice.

Larry, your interior looks great. The reason I backed off having the center console painted is because I wasn't willing to pay to have the PCM painted. When you do both it does together very nicely. Well done! I still wouldn't trade my vented seats even if I loved the Alcantara

Jets - I posted some new photos of the pickup in my thread but better ones are in the works. I've got the day off and my wife and I are spending the day on a long drive. And she is a professional photojournalist

I felt it was critical to the overall artistic integrity of the composition, it was insanely expensive (I recall about 2.2k) but I think the result speaks for itself.

I'm a huge fan of this option, I painted the interior of my cobalt blue '07 GT3 and it looked amazing ... its a very unique option to Porsche and one that
isn't as popular as it should be... YMMV

p.s
I also painted my side skirts and rear fascia too!

Wow Larry. I have PCM envy. I was a little scared to tick the box. Looks great though.

man I was too ... but when I decided to go with the painted interior I happened to see a green turbo S at historics last year that had PCM painted, and I decided that to "complete" the effect it was a "must have" ... despite the sticker shock!

Agree with "fastdiablo"....I have a 2009 Cayenne GTS with Alcantera......Really like it......the seats do not get hot so you really do not need the cooling seats...I live in So. Cal.......I also have a 2012 Panamera E hybrid in leather with cooling seats.....They are really nice and do cool the seats off..... I have a Carmine Red TARGA GTS on its way from Stuttgart with the GTS interior....Having had both I decided to go with the classy, rich and luxurious feel described above. I added the painted A/C vents to bring in more red. They also have deviated sticking around them .....really a nice subtle way to incorporate more red.....EITHER WAY...you can't go wrong......but don't let the cooling seats make your decision.....go with the look you like!

Thanks for the input. I took a test drive yesterday and the 7 speed I drove had the alcantara steeling wheel and I did not like the feel of it at all. I also figured that the alcantara seats wouldn't get as hot as leather seats-I have vent seats in the HD Ram and really dig them. I find long drives more enjoyable with them on that's all. It's a point A to point A car mostly anyways...Bottom line is I was totally sold on the communication package until I started picturing the blacked out interior with that sick red painted throughout.

Also worth mentioning-I used to have a Honda Prelude SH and I sourced all the JDM Type S parts that basically look like the GTS package with the same colors and red stitching. Kind of makes me feel like "been there, done that" except then I see it; it looks great too. The photos show a type S interior:

In the end you have to go with what will make you happy. No right or wrong here!

I prefer the GTS package with the red tach.

However, the alcantera SD steering does feel a bit hit and miss. I would probably do GTS package with leather steering wheel instead.

I went for the alcantara interior without any deviated stitching - was called 'GTS interior package in black' I think. I do wish I had vented seats sometimes when top is down and sun is out, but alcantara definitely less sweaty than unventilated leather, and I think it just looks more special than the leather with all the holes, especially as my car is (or was!) black on the outside too. Tough call if I was doing it again.

Loving the pics of the painted interiors!
