Hmmm...individual opinions aside, I don't recall Porsche claiming the 991 to be invincible. But as consumers, we are fortunate to have such good choices. The 911 is dead. Long live the 911...or something like that.

So the 991 got "beat" by the R8 by being 2.5 sec per lap….. faster???!
Uh huh.
But I kept reading anyway. Finally, way at the end, it turns out the whole thing is one long lead-in to their GT3RS review.
Journalism is dead. Long live marketing!

I'm a car guy first and a Porsche guy second. There is room in my heart for different brands, just not room in my garage Having owned a few Audis I lust after the R8 V10. If it had two extra seats for my kids it would have been high on the list of cars competing for my dollars. Then again, I'm not sure any car regardless of price could make up for my love of the new Targa. I think it is the best looking 911 to come along in a very long time and when I saw it I knew I would have to own one.

How odd, this seems 180 degrees out of phase with virtually every other review I've read or seen. What seems especially odd are the comments about the trickiness of the rear end. Most other reviewers complain about the fact that it is virtually impossible to get the 911's rear end to kick out. Reviewers, although they love the Speciale, usually comment on how difficult it is to get the Ferrari to go in a straight line when tipping into the pedal. People like Tiff enjoy the Aston because it is easier to get it's rear end out compared to a 911. This is the only review I've come across where the R8 has been preferred over the 911. Given that Evo is British, I'm not surprised for their love of the Aston.
