It yellows.

Quicker than the Cowardly Lion in Oz.

You are referring to the old stuff, not the new Pro Series.

No.

Referring specifically to Scotchgard Pro Series.

In addition to the yellowing issues, my installer also had difficulty with adhesion and crumpling of the 3M Pro Series film.

Of course, if you're happy with it, more power to you and enjoy the ride.

Never heard of an issue with Pro Series yellowing (it's warranted against that for seven years). The Ventureshield, yes. My installer has been using it since it was introduced, took him a little while to get used to the nuances (adhesive slightly more aggressive and film slightly less stretchy), but he prefers it now. He does Xpel too. Installers are generally resistant to change in my experience.

All the films are quite good now, really can't go wrong, and as others have said, the skill level of the installer in more important than the film itself.

Anyway, I've had good luck with it on three cars and endorse the product.

I had Xpel installed (full front bumper, fenders, mirrors, roof pillar and rear bumper). It's fully transparent and very difficult to tell it's there. It's already provided protection for the hood and fenders against rock/stone chips. I concur that a good, experienced installer is very important, irrespective of the choice of film.

I also recommend OptiCoat for the entire car (can be applied over the Xpel) for additional protection to the paint and finish. It's very durable, enhances gloss, much tougher/thicker than the factory clear coat, and makes washing quick and easy.

While the Xpel and Opticoat were extra costs, I considered them to be a worthwhile investment in maintaining the paint, finish and gloss of the vehicle.

If you are going to buy a Porsche, you might as well keep it looking great.

Enjoy your Porsche!

Early runs of the product had these issues - I'm not sure if it's fixed now or not as it wasn't available in roll sizes for a full hood when my GT3 arrived I went with Xpel. Will probably try 3M Pro on my next car.

My opinion is to enjoy the car's paintwork as it is.
The PPF is really only protection the front and hood.
Rather save and invest the money for the PPF and use some of it when necessary to respray the affected areas.

No one use Avery?
I have Avery on my GTS. My first car with PPF so I can't give too much feedback.
So far so good after 2 months.

XPEL Ultimate is best product on the market currently. Does not yellow and small chips are easily repaired by placing car in hot sun or dumping hot water on the damaged location to redistribute the material. I used the product on '15 991 GTS with no issues; most people

cannot tell it's even on the car.

This is a nice comparison of all the products on the market as of 2013.

It's a bit dated, but still quite relevant for many of the products discussed in this thread, including Xpel, SunTek, Avery, etc.

What areas did you treat on the GTS? I did my F80. My GTS is next....
